Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Badal today visited waterlogged villages in Fazilka district and claimed the government had “failed” to help farmers, whose crops had been lying submerged for three weeks.

“Around 100 villages are waterlogged for the past three weeks, but CM Bhagwant Mann and AAP leaders are busy collecting funds for the Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat Assembly elections,” he said during his visit of the affected villages.

He demanded Rs 30,000 per acre as compensation for the farmers.
