Suspended IAS officer Kamal Kishore Yadav reinstated, gets new posting
He was suspended last month in a case related to procuring smartphones for Anganwari workers
Senior IAS officer, Kamal Kishore Yadav, who was suspended last month in a case related to procuring smartphones for Anganwari workers, has been reinstated and posted as Secretary, General Administration and Coordination.
Yadav, along with another IAS officer Jaspreet Singh, was suspended by Chief Secretary KAP Sinha on February 7. While Yadav has been reinstated and given a posting, Singh is yet to get posted.
The suspension of the officers and transfer of another officer of the rank of Additional Chief Secretary, Vikas Pratap, had sent ripples in the corridors of power last month. The action was initiated against the officers on the directions of the state political establishment, who were upset with the six-year delay in the procurement of 28,515 smartphones for Anganwadi workers. At that time, Yadav and Singh were posted in Industry Department, whose arm, Punjab Infotech, was tasked with procuring the smartphones for Social Security Department.
Yadav now replaces Gauri Prashar Joshi in General Administration Department, as she is proceeding on a long leave. Other than Yadav, three PCS officers have also been given new posting orders today.
