Fazilka, February 11
BKU (Ekta Daukonda) activists today took out a procession in Fazilka, urging residents to teach BJP candidates a lesson by boycotting them. BKU district president Harish Nadha said farmers had been protesting against the BJP-led central government for the past five months, demanding the repeal of the farm laws, but the government was unmoved.
He said farmers had started joining the protest at Delhi from all over the country and it wouldn’t take long for the Modi government to relent under pressure.
He said BKU activists had been appealing town residents to teach BJP candidates a lesson. Nadha said the activists also staged a protest outside the office of a BJP candidate on the Gaushalla road during the procession. — OC
