Ropar, August 6

A day after many students levelled allegations of molestation against their Hindi teacher, the local police registered a case under Section 354 of the IPC, IT Act and Protection of Children against Sexual Offences Act against the teacher here today.

The victims had informed their parents that that the accused, identified as Sunil Sharma, used to touch them unnecessarily and sent obscene messages on their phones.

So, the parents of victim students of Class IX and X went to the school yesterday and demanded action against the teacher.

Though school principal Sangeeta Rani claimed that the school management would take disciplinary action against the accused teacher, no complaint was lodged against him with the police.

After the media raised the issue, the police reached the school in the morning today and recorded the statement of one of the victims.
