Various teachers of the region were felicitated for their performance on the birth anniversary of Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, a renowned philosopher and educator.

While office-bearers and activists of various units of social outfits organised elaborate functions to felicitate veteran, retired and working teachers, enthusiasts, including entrepreneurs, leaders, bureaucrats and students, presented gifts, roses and sweets to their respective teachers as a token of gratitude and respect.

Rotary Club and Lions Club were among the international service organisations that organise functions at the national level to felicitate outstandingly performing teachers.

Felicitated teachers, including retired veteran educators, who vowed to dedicate their lives to transforming the lives of students hailing from various sections of society and contributing to the socio-economic development of the region.

Teachers undertook to continue learning the latest techniques of teaching to educate students of their respective institutions.

District chief advisor of Rotary International, Amjad Ali, said Rotarians led by the district governor, Dr Sandeep Chauhan, had organised functions to felicitate teachers, shortlisted according to guidelines of the parent organisation.

The assistant governor, Hakam Singh Ranu said teachers were felicitated in recognition of their services and the role they played in updating students on various subjects besides.
