Three arrested for carjacking

Bathinda, July 27

The police have arrested three persons for carjacking an SUV at gunpoint from Model Town in Bathinda on Friday night.

The accused have been identified as Vikas Sharma, Aman Chawla and Deepak Sharma, alias Deepu.

During investigation, Vikas, who is a son of a former police officer, revealed that he had given money to Manoj Jain, owner of A-One Immigration Centre, to obtain a visa for him.

Vikas said Manoj neither arranged visa nor refunded his money, thus he along with his two accomplices took the victim’s SUV.

After Manoj informed the police, cops located the SUV through the GPS system from the house of former police officer in Lal Singh Basti.

SP City Narinder Singh said Vikas runs a job placement centre at Mehna Chowk. He said the police team also seized a motorcycle, a licensed .32 bore revolver and eight cartridges from the possession of the trio.
