Thunderstorm, hail alert issued for parts of Punjab; gusty winds likely

The Punjab State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has issued an alert warning that thundershowers accompanied by lightning, hailstorms and gusty winds (40–50 kmph) are very likely at isolated places in Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Pathankot, Rupnagar and SAS Nagar over the next 24 hours.

“If there is any emergency, call 112,” SDMA officials said in the alert.

Meanwhile, cloudy conditions with overcast skies have prevailed across the Tricity since Monday morning. On Sunday, rain lashed the Tricity, bringing down the temperature considerably.
