Chandigarh, December 22

The BKU (Ekta Ugrahan) will be joining hands with 10 trade unions to launch a protest against privatisation policies of the BJP-led NDA government. An official press release by union president Joginder Singh Ugrahan and general secretary Sukhdev Singh Kokrikalan said the protest would be held on January 8 as these policies were “anti-people” and targeted at “promoting” just a few corporates.

It was under the garb of these policies that the Centre was trying to walk away from its responsibility of purchasing food grains in the state, they said.
