Two smugglers held with 1,700 intoxicating pills



Moga, November 24

The police have arrested two drug smugglers and recovered 1,700 intoxicating pills from them, SSP Satinderjit Singh Mand said here today.

He said a drug smuggler, identified as Simranjit Singh, alias Goldi, a resident of Marhi Mustafa village, was arrested from Channuwala village when he had gone there on a scooter to sell the intoxicating pills to his customers. As many as 1,480 intoxicating pills were recovered from him.

The SSP said another drug smuggler, Gobind Singh, alias Gora, a resident of Gholia Kalan village, was arrested from Sandhuana Road, Moga, and 220 intoxicating pills were recovered from him. A sum of Rs 40,000 drug money was also recovered from him, the SSP added. Mand said two criminal cases under the NDPS Act had been registered against them. Further, probe is in progress. — TNS
