VB nabs 2 for taking bribe in Ludhiana, Bathinda

The Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Friday arrested a revenue official and an associate of another revenue official from Ludhiana and Bathinda districts for taking bribe.
Revenue Patwari Jagjit Singh of Halka Kalyan Sukha in Bathinda was arrested on a complaint filed by Kuldeep Singh. He was accused of accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 to facilitate transfer of land.
Ashok Kumar, an associate of Revenue Patwari Chamkour Singh of Giaspura in Ludhiana, was arrested for accepting a bribe of Rs 6,000. In this regard, a bribery case was also registered against the patwari.
He was arrested on the basis of a complaint filed by Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Kohara village in Ludhiana district.
Rakesh Kumar had alleged that the patwari and his accomplice had demanded a bribe of Rs 6,000 to complete formalities for mutation of his newly purchased plot.
