CHANDIGARH, JUNE 23

The state government on Thursday decided to issue challans and impound vehicles violating criteria of registration mark state code (PB) and other conditions. The order will be applicable on all vehicles registered with the registration authority after June 12, 1989. The Transport Department has also issued orders to immediately block these numbers on VAHAN website.

These fancy numbers allotted in violation of the Act concerned were revoked on December 30, 2020, describing these as illegal. Giving details about these decisions, state Transport Minister Laljeet Singh Bhullar said those having such fancy numbers could get the new fancy numbers as per the notification of the state government issued on December 10, 2020.
