Verka increases milk price by Rs 2 per litre

After dairy brand Amul, state-run cooperative flagship brand Verka under Milkfed has also announced a hike in milk prices by Rs 2 per litre across several variants, effective from May 14.

In a letter issued by the cooperative milk producer union, all Verka distributors were informed about the revised rates.

Half-litre packs will see an increase of Re 1. The print price on the pouch will remain unchanged till the earlier stock is exhausted.

According to the official notification issued on May 13, the hike will range between Re 1 and Rs 2 per pouch across popular variants, impacting consumers in Chandigarh, Mohali, Panchkula, Ludhiana, Ropar, Baddi and Shimla.
