Punjab Congress chief Raja Warring questions 'conscience' of ex-Congressmen in BJP
"All these leaders, before joining the BJP, were part of the same Congress, Shah abused in their presence"
Punjab Congress president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring today questioned the ‘conscience’ of all those former Congressmen who were sitting at the Bharatiya Janata Party’s stage while the Union Home Minister Amit Shah was criticising the party.
He said that all these leaders, before joining the BJP, were part of the same Congress, Shah abused in their presence. “The criticism was directed as much against them as other Congressmen since they were also part of the Congress,” he remarked.
“There were more Congressmen who shared the dais with Shah than his own BJP people,” Warring noted, while pointing out, right from the state BJP president Sunil Jakhar, who was earlier the Punjab Congress president to Preneet Kaur, Manpreet Singh Badal, Ravneet Singh Bittu, Rana Sodhi and others, who occupied the stage, belonged to the Congress and enjoyed power and glory in the party, while the traditional BJP leaders were completely sidelined.
“If the Congress was so bad, as Shah would make everyone believe, then how come the BJP was full of people from the Congress?” he asked, while adding, this only revealed the double standards of the party, which not only steals elections, but also steals leaders from other parties, particularly the Congress, using multiple means and methods.
The PPCC president challenged the BJP to ensure that all those leaders who shared the dais with Shah will remain in the party till the time of elections, as they also realise where the party stands in Punjab. “Withdraw security paraphernalia of CISF staff today and see how long they will remain in the BJP,” he challenged the Union Home Minister.
