Akali Dal president Sukhbir Badal on Wednesday said a comparison of development works carried out during the tenure of the Badal government with the present Congress government would be their poll plank during the coming Lok Sabha elections and let the people decide.

He claimed that the Badal government had spent Rs 40,000 crore on the construction of roads across the state and carried out various other development works, whereas the Congress failed to initiate even a single project. Instead, it discontinued all their projects, he alleged.

Sukhbir was in the town for a meeting with party workers.

Referring to the presence of Jagdish Tytler during a Congress event in Delhi, he alleged that instead of punishing and taking action against him, the party was giving him importance in a bid to rub salt on the wounds of 1984 riot victims.

“Is the Congress waiting for his conviction before his removal from the party?” he asked. On the resignation of Jaito MLA Baldev Singh from AAP, he said they were befooling people. “If they have guts they should resign from the Vidhan Sabha,” he added.
