A woman and her two children died due to asphyxia at Hamadwala village in Mallanwala block last night.

As per information, victim Harpreet Kaur (35) had placed a hearth in the bedroom to keep it warm. However, she along with sons Sahilpreet Singh (12) and Ekamjot Singh (5) died of suffocation caused by carbon monoxide. Her husband Jagjit Singh is currently settled in Malaysia.

Father-in-law Kewal Singh said the matter came to light when he woke up in the morning and looked out for Harpreet. “I knocked at the bedroom door but elicited no response. I along with some villagers broke open the door and found the three dead,” said Kewal Singh.
