Woman, son killed in road mishap near Moga

A road accident on the outskirts of Moga has claimed the lives of a woman and her young son. The incident occurred when the family was returning home after visiting a temple.
According to locals, the family of four was travelling on a motorcycle when a speeding car rammed into them from behind. The impact was so severe that all four riders were thrown onto the asphalt.
Witnesses at the scene rushed to help, but the woman and her son succumbed to their injuries before they could receive medical intervention. The husband and the couple's daughter sustained serious injuries and were immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
The local police arrived at the site to conduct a preliminary investigation.
The vehicle involved in the crash has reportedly been identified and authorities are working to determine if speeding or distracted driving played a role in the collision.
"We are in the process of recording statements and ensuring the injured receive the best possible care," stated a local official.
The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination, and a formal case is expected to be registered against the driver of the car.
