Abohar youth dies hours after return from rehab centre

A 21-year-old resident of Abohar-Hindumalkot Road was found unconscious in a car near a tractor agency under suspicious circumstances. He was immediately taken to the Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Following the incident, his family members took his body home without allowing a post-mortem examination, the deceased had returned home from a de-addiction centre just hours earlier.

The victim was pursuing a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree.

During this period, he had started consuming intoxicants in the company of some youths. Consequently, his family admitted him to a rehabilitation centre.

His father explained that after remaining admitted at the de-addiction centre for three months, they had brought him back home today.

Shortly after it, the son suddenly took a car and left the house, prompting the family to search for him.

During their search, they received information that a young man was lying unconscious inside a car near a tractor agency.

They rushed to the scene and immediately admitted him to the hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

The victim’s father said he was their only son.
