After a hiatus of five years, Punjabi University will hold its 38th convocation ceremony on March 13. The university will confer degrees to the PhD, MPhil candidates and medals to toppers of postgraduate and professional courses.
Dr Balwinder Singh Tiwana, Controller of Examinations, said around 600 students of professional courses and 700 PhD scholars will be conferred degrees at the convocation.
The Tribune had recently highlighted the plight of toppers, who were forced to pay extra fee to get their degrees released as the university had not organised convocation for a long time. The university held the previous convocation ceremony in 2015.
