Rail passengers' woes continue

8 trains cancelled, two rescheduled, several delayed

With the weather conditions showing no signs of improvement, rail traffic remains erratic and so does the misery of passengers. The Railways on Tuesday announced cancellation of eight long-route trains, four remained partially cancelled, two were rescheduled for late departure, two others were diverted and many more were running behind schedule.

Trains running late 

  • Over 4 hrs: 15655 Kamakhya-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express, 13005 Howrah-Amritsar Mail.

  • 2 to 4 hrs: 13049 Howrah-Amritsar Express, 15707 Katihar-Amritsar Amrapali Express, 18101 Tatanagar-Jammu Tawi Muri Express, 12587 Gorakhpur-Jammu Tawi Express, 12203 Saharsa-Amritsar Garib Rath.

  • 1 to 2 hrs: 22445 Kanpur-Amritsar Express.

The Railways announced cancellation of 13005 Howrah-Amritsar Mail, 14674 Amritsar-Jaynagar Shaheed Express, 13151/52 Kolkata-Jammu Tawi Sealdah Express, 14617/18 Banmankhi- Amritsar-Banmankhi Janasewa Express and 14631/32 Dehradun-Amritsar-Dehradun Express.

The pair of 12053/54 Haridwar-Amritsar-Haridwar Janshatabdi Express remained partially cancelled between Saharnpur and Haridwar, while that of 14609/10 Rishikesh-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Rishikesh Hemkunt Express was partially cancelled between Haridwar and Rishikesh.

Two trains - 11449 Jabalpur-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Express (1 hr) and 12237 Varanasi-Jammu Tawi Begumpurs Express (1.30 hrs) - were rescheduled for late departure due to operational reasons.

Two other trains - 15933 Dibrugarh-Amritsar Express and 19224 Jammu Tawi-Ajmer - were diverted via alternate routes for part of the journey.
