During interrogation, Simar said on the night of March 6, Pakistani smugglers had dropped 2 kg heroin from a drone at the same location.

He successfully carried it to Punjab on a motorcycle with the help of his cousin, Karamjeet Singh, alias Lovely, of Baruwala village, and his brother-in-law, Ranjeet Singh, of Chak 44-PS.

After delivering the consignment to the smugglers in Punjab, he returned to Baruwala on March 8. That same day, he, along with Karamjeet Singh and Ranjeet Singh, again sent the location to a Pakistani phone number.

At around 11 pm, the three of them arrived at the field to collect the consignment. The Pakistani drone circled eight times, dropping one packet each time. Simranjeet Singh collected and folded the packets into his shawl.

A farmer watering his crops immediately alerted Jagdish Chaudhary, Company Commandant of the 163 Battalion of the BSF. BSF personnel surrounded the field. Karamjeet Singh and Ranjeet Singh managed to escape. Simarjit Singh, who was hiding in a field with eight packets, was apprehended on the spot.

Simar explained that he suddenly needed money, so he asked an acquaintance, Surinder, a resident of Lakheke Musahib Uttar village in Jalalabad, for a loan.

Surinder reportedly introduced him to Sandeep Singh, who said one "Jordan" could help him. “Jordan” reportedly assigned Simar the task of collecting heroin delivered via drone from Pakistan. The deal was for Rs 20,000 per kg.

“Jordan” provided a Pakistani mobile number and instructed Simar to share the location, pick up the consignment, and deliver it to the specified location.

Simar reached Karamjit Singh in Baruwala on March 6 and arranged a phone call between Karamjit Singh and “Jordan”. He sent the location to Jordan's number. That night, the drone dropped two packets, one each, in a field in Chak 44-PS. The three picked up the consignment, and Simar left for Punjab. After delivering the packets, he returned to Baruwala on March 8 and sent the location again.

A case was registered, and police are on the lookout for Karamjit Singh, Ranjit Singh, Surinder, Sandeep, and “Jordan”.
