  • Approval to 550 posts in govt medical colleges

  • Mohali college to be named after Dr BR Ambedkar

With the Local Government Department having been pulled up by the National Green Tribunal for contaminated drains, streams and rivers, the Punjab Cabinet today approved a Rs 650-crore rejuvenation plan, Phase-I, for Ludhiana’s Budha Nullah, which has been a major threat to environment.

Officials said an additional sewage treatment plant with a capacity of 275 MLD would be set up. This would go a long way in cleansing the Budha Nullah and the Sutlej. — TNS
