Chandigarh, January 24
A 57-year-old Chief Manager with the SBI was found dead in a room at the SBI guest house in Sector 42 this morning. The police have ruled out any foul play.
The victim has been identified as Ranjit Singh, who was staying at the bank guest house.
“He had a party with his colleagues at Mohali last night, after which they dropped him back at the guest house,” said a police official.
In the morning, when he did not open the door, the staff at the guest house informed his colleagues, who reached the guest house. The police were informed about the incident, who visited the spot.
The door was broken open and the victim was found lying on the bed.
He was rushed to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, where doctors declared him brought dead. The police said the victim’s family resides in Mansa, Punjab, and had been informed about the incident.
Inquest proceedings have been initiated at the Sector 36 police station.
