Bollywood actor Sonu Sood and CT University have joined hands to provide free education to the underprivileged. Prof Saroj Sood Scholarship has been introduced to accommodate maximum number of students.
Vice-chancellor Harsh Sadawarti said the university had joined hands with film actor Sonu Sood who had generously come forward to support the noble cause of imparting free education to the needy.
Dr Sadawarti said: “Under the support that the actor has announced, Prof Saroj Sood Scholarship is introduced and will be made available to students based on their eligible scores in qualifying examinations. Sonu Sood has set up Prof Saroj Sood Memorial Trust (PSSMT) in memory of his revered mother to aid needy students. It is a non-government organisation (NGO) committed to the all-round development of underprivileged needy children.”
The actor has recently shared information regarding the scholarship on his Twitter account.
The vice-chancellor said: “Sood is a well-known face for his benevolent tasks of human welfare and he has created a unique niche of credibility for himself owing to his diverse acts of nobility during the pandemic. He has entered the field of education and have mutually agreed to support the cause of providing free education to the underprivileged and deserving meritorious students from across the country, in association with CT University.”
“The university will like to accommodate maximum number of students under the programme to their choicest course out of a wide-ranging list of 80 plus courses of different disciplines,” he said.
