Awareness session on cervical cancer held

Sri Guru Harkrishan Sr Sec Public School, Sector 40-C, Chandigarh, organised a comprehensive cervical cancer awareness session for parents and students, leaving the audience informed, inspired, and empowered. Parents were invited to attend the session, recognising their pivotal role in safeguarding the health and future of their children. The event was graced by the presence of Dr Paramjit Singh, president, School Management Committee; Inderjeet Singh, vice-president, School Management Committee; and STP Singh, honorary secretary, School Management Committee. Dr Harjit Singh Sabharwal, founder of Tera Hi Tera Mission Hospital, a beacon of compassion who has devoted his life to the service of humanity, was also present. The session was expertly conducted by Dr Harpreet Kaur, gynaecologist, who shed light on the causes, symptoms, preventive measures and the life-saving significance of the vaccine for prevention of cervical cancer. She aptly emphasised that prevention is better than cure and that timely screening can nip the disease in the bud. The session served as a wake-up call, reminding us that awareness is the first step towards action. The members of the management and Principal Shama Kukkal extended their heartfelt gratitude to Dr Harjit Singh Sabharwal and Dr Harpreet Kaur for graciously sparing their valuable time and for their unwavering dedication and selfless service towards humanity.
