Capacity building programme for social science teachers organised

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) concluded a comprehensive two-day capacity building programme for social science teachers. Hosted at KB DAV Senior Secondary Public School, Chandigarh, the workshop strategically addressed the modernisation of pedagogical approaches and alignment of teaching strategies with recent educational developments. Under the guidance of Subeena Anand (Principal, Baby Convent School) and Sagrika Bakshi (Principal, Shemford Futuristic School), the programme furnished educators with resources to facilitate a transition from textbook-centric instruction towards dynamic, learner-centred methodologies. Key programme highlights included pedagogical innovation, skill development, holistic assessment techniques and the integration of values and citizenship education. The programme culminated in teacher presentations and an exploration of diverse career opportunities within the social sciences, effectively enhancing the professional capabilities of participating educators.
