Delhi World Public School, Zirakpur
The school organised an interactive Arduino UNO Microcontroller Workshop at the school’s Atal Tinkering Lab. Designed to inspire and empower Class VIII students, the workshop provided hands-on exposure to the fundamentals of electronics, programming, and the innovative applications of Arduino technology. The session commenced with an introduction to the Arduino Uno microcontroller, its components (including digital/analog pins and power sources), and its significance in robotics and automation. Students were introduced to the Arduino IDE, where they learnt the basics of coding, including loops, variables, and functions. They wrote their first programme to control LEDs and successfully built a “blinking LED” circuit, gaining valuable insights into hardware-software integration. A key highlight was the discussion on future innovations, which encouraged students to explore advanced projects and think creatively about solving real-world problems. Dr Manisha Sahni, Principal of the school, emphasised the importance of such initiatives in fostering STEM education and nurturing problem-solving skills among students. She said, “This workshop is a step towards equipping our students with the tools and knowledge they need to become the innovators of tomorrow. We are committed to providing them with opportunities to explore, experiment, and excel in the fields of science and technology.”
