To raise awareness about health issues and to promote healthier life styles, World Health Week, under the banner ‘Healthy children make happy children’ was celebrated, for the students of Class V at the school. Various productive sessions for one week were conducted by the In-house Medical Officer Dr Neetu Sharda and School Counsellor Khushboo Saini. Students were made aware of the healthy lifestyles, lifestyle diseases, food pyramid and importance of sound sleep. The health awareness programme began on world health with the introduction of health pledge, followed by session on yoga and meditation on Day 2, where the children were made aware of the yoga asanas and their benefits. Another session was on right body postures of sitting and standing through a PowerPoint Presentation in the classroom. Beside these, there were inclusion of activities like poster making, quotes on healthy food drive, awareness on healthy lifestyles and the importance of global health. Principal Pooja Prakash appreciated the initiatives taken by the school Medical Officer, counsellor, teachers and the enthusiastic participation of Class V students regarding their health.
