Mount Carmel School, Chandigarh, celebrated its 38th Founders' Week-cum-Annual Day with grandeur and heartfelt thanksgiving at the Tagore Theatre. The occasion held added significance as it coincided with the birthday of Founder and Director, Dr Earnest Charles J Samuel. The Annual Function, titled "A Symphony of Gratitude -A Celebration of Blessing Called Life," was graced by Harpreet Kaur Babla, Mayor of Chandigarh, as the chief guest, and Colonel Deepak De, as the guest of honour. The morning session was dedicated to the young Carmelites who celebrated with innocence and joy under the theme "A Symphony of Gratitude - A Celebration of Blessing Called Life." The ceremony was graced by chief guest Dr Gurvinder Pal Thami, Director Principal, GMCH-32, and guest of honour Surabhi Prashar, Chief Judicial Magistrate, DLSA Mohali. The evening session was graced by chief guest Amit Kumar, IAS, Commissioner, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh, and guest of honour Col Vivek Chaudhry. The programme unfolded with devotional and cultural presentations that expressed gratitude towards the Almighty, parents, mentors and the nation. Accolades were bestowed upon Scholastic and Co-scholastic achievers. Forty-four students were awarded the Best All-round Students' trophies for the session 2024-25 and 97 students of classes VI to XII were awarded for Excellence in Academics for the session 2024-25. Jonathan Ivan Charles Rolling Trophy for the best student of the School (juniors) in cultural activities was bagged by Srija Malik of Class III. Jefferson Samuel Charles Rolling Trophy for the best student of the school (seniors) in cultural activities was bagged by Shavik Bragta of Class XI. Poonam Bhatt Rolling trophy for the Best All-round student of the School was also bagged by Shavik Bragta. The Rolling trophy for the Best House in Athletics for the year were awarded to Keats House. The Rolling trophy for the Best House on Duty for the year was awarded to Milton House and Rev Samuel John Memorial Rolling trophy for the Best House of the year was awarded to Milton House. Surinder Bala memorial Rolling trophy for the Most Active Club of the year was bagged by Music Club. Dr Annie Charles Samuel & Dr Earnest Charles J Samuel Rolling Trophy for the highest aggregate marks scored by the student of the School in the Class XII CBSE Examinations conducted in March 2025 was bagged by Loveleen Kaur, who scored 95.4% marks. 52 students were awarded for scoring 90% and above marks in the CBSE Board Examination-2025. The staff members who served the Institution for more than 15 years, 20 years, 25 years and 30 years were also honoured on this occasion. The Principal, Dr Parveena John Singh, lauded the relentless efforts of all stakeholders in bringing the event to fruition.
