An enriching online session on ‘Compassion and Animal Welfare’ was conducted as part of Earth Day celebrations and the Animal Fan Club initiative, in collaboration with the Helen Woodward Animal Center, USA, at GD Goenka Public School, Mohali. The session was led by Haylee Blake and Jacqueline Kelleher, who shared valuable insights on humane education and global animal welfare. The workshop emphasised empathy, coexistence and awareness about often overlooked species, including reptiles, marine life and insects. Adding a creative dimension to the celebration, GD Goenka students presented a heartfelt song dedicated to Mother Earth, followed by a presentation and a speech highlighting the importance of environmental conservation. The performance was widely applauded and encouraged meaningful discussions among participants. The virtual session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and educators across the country, making it an engaging learning experience. “At GD Goenka Public School, we believe true education goes beyond academics by nurturing compassion and respect for all living beings,” said Principal Gurpreet Kaur Prakash.
