PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No 2, Jalandhar Cantt holds awareness session

The school organised an awareness session on substance abuse prevention titled “Mothers Against Drugs” under the guidance of Principal, Ravinder Kumar. The programme was conducted in collaboration with HQ 11 Corps Medical Branch and the Punjab Lit Foundation. The main objective of the programme was to create awareness among parents about the growing problem of substance abuse and to emphasise the crucial role of mothers and families in guiding children towards a healthy and responsible lifestyle. The session was addressed by renowned speakers Khushwant Singh and Gaurav Gill, who shared valuable insights on the causes, consequences, and early warning signs of substance abuse among youth. They strongly highlighted the importance of parental vigilance, open communication, emotional support, and positive role modelling in preventing children from falling into addiction. The programme was highly interactive, with active participation from parents, who shared their concerns, experiences, and queries. The speakers responded thoughtfully, making the discussion meaningful and practical.
