Lohri was celebrated with great zeal at the school Patiala. A special assembly was conducted by Jasmine House wherein Rajneet Kaur of Class VII spoke about the history and relevance of the winter festival. She shared that it is a regional winter festival in which “we lit sacred bonfire, pray, dance, sing and enjoy different winter delicacies strengthening the bond with family and friends”. Students of Class V recited a poem and girls presented gidda. A sacred bonfire was lit to mark the festival. Students were fully engrossed in festive vibes. Students were made aware of Makar Sankranti as well which is celebrated on the next day by flying kites and praying the Sun God. Officiating Principal Sukhjeet Kaur wished ‘Happy Lohri’ to the students and staff.
