The junior wing of the school organised activities based on health and hygiene under the British Council project RIDS (Recognition of International Dimensions in Schools). The objective of the programme was to make children aware of the importance of a healthy and clean lifestyle. Children were told about the correct way of washing hands, importance of a healthy lunch box (balanced diet), need to wash fruits and vegetables before eating, importance of vitamins and nutrients that children get from fruits and vegetables. Children were explained the benefits of brushing and flossing their teeth twice a day. Children were motivated to adopt the habits of cutting nails twice a week and maintaining personal hygiene. Teachers provided information to children through games, stories and practical demonstrations to inculcate these habits.
