The school invited Bhavneet Kaur, a dietician and Assistant Professor at Government Home Science College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, to its annual orientation programme for the parents of pre-primary studenrs. Bhavneet Kaur sensitised the parents to inculcating healthy eating habits at an early age. She suggested healthy, balanced food portions for the young ones. She apprised the parents of the ill-effects of overindulgence in junk food. This was followed by a counselling session by school counsellor Manmeet Kaur Reen. She spoke to parents about different parenting styles and their impact on children, the importance of setting a routine at home, the phase of transition from home to school and separation anxiety in new school-going children and parents. She suggested strategies to deal with these issues.
