Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28, Chandigarh, organised an engaging Seed Germination Activity for the students of its Pre-Nursery at the Alphabet Park on the school premises. The young learners embarked on a nature-based activity where curiosity blossomed alongside their seedlings. Carrying kidney beans as well as paper cups that they brought from home, the children explored the basics of planting. With colourful spades in their hands, they practised fine motor skills by carefully scooping soil and placing their seeds into it. Guided by their teachers, the students also learned about care as well as the responsibility as they watered their seeds with enthusiasm. The garden became a hands-on classroom, which allowed the students to experience learning beyond textbooks. The sensory-rich activity introduced them to the fundamentals of plant growth and life cycles while nurturing patience, observation skills and a sense of responsibility.
