Mount Carmel School, Zirakpur, conducted a counselling session, titled “Raising Calm and Kind-Hearted Children” for parents of Grade III and Grade IV students. The one-hour session aimed to sensitise parents and children regarding abusive behaviour. It was divided into three segments. The first segment focused on understanding why children use abusive language and explored the root causes behind such behaviour. The second segment highlighted how the outer environment gradually shapes a child’s inner world and influences behaviour. The final segment provided practical solutions and effective parenting tools to address the issue constructively. Principal Rashmi Ivy Rafi, in her message, emphasised that nurturing kindness and emotional awareness begins at home and is strengthened at school. She encouraged parents to model respectful communication and positive behaviour, stating that when children feel heard and valued, they naturally grow into calm and compassionate individuals.
