Shashwat Khanna of Class IV of Saint Soldier International School, Sector 28-B, Chandigarh brought laurels to the school with his remarkable performance at the 16th Chandigarh Chess Academy Open and Children Chess Festival organised by the Chandigarh Chess Academy. Competing in the Under-9 category, Shashwat faced tough competition from around 54 young participants who displayed impressive strategic skills and competitive spirit. Shashwat secured an impressive 6th position, scoring 4.5 points out of 6. His commendable performance earned him a trophy along with a cash prize of Rs 1,100. School Principal Anisha Ghuman congratulated Shashwat on his notable achievement and appreciated his dedication, hard work and talent. She encouraged him to continue pursuing the game with the same passion and determination. The achievement has brought pride to the school and serves as an inspiration for other students to excel in co-curricular activities alongside academics.
