Young athletes bring honours to St Mary’s School, Mohali

St Mary’s School, Mohali, continued its winning streak as students excelled in both martial arts and basketball, bringing laurels to the institution at state, zonal and elite-level competitions. Two young students made the school proud by winning Gold Medals at the NKF Punjab State Karate Championships 2025, held at Sector 70, Mohali, from November 22 to 23, 2025. Amrita Bhatia of Class II-A and Druvika Bhatia of KG secured top honours in the Semi-Contact Karate category. Their achievement was appreciated by the school management, teachers and parents. The school also celebrated the performances of its young basketball players at zonal and elite-level tournaments. Yuvraj Mishra of Class V-B won a Bronze Medal in the U-14 Boys 3v3 category at the Zonal Level Weekend Games organised by SM Basketball Academy at GMADA Phase-11, Mohali, while also helping his team secure the trophy. He added to his accolades by winning a silver medal at the Elite SBP Basketball Tournament in Derabassi. Aditi Mishra of Class II-B impressed with her consistent performance, winning a silver medal in the U-14 Girls 3v3 category at the zonal level along with the trophy. She went on to clinch gold medals and trophies at the Maan Singh Sohana Memorial Basketball Tournament (U-10 3x3) and the Kids Dribble-a-Thon 2025-26, held at GD Goenka School and New Public School, Chandigarh, respectively. Avnish Jadhav of Class V-B also brought honour to the school by winning a Bronze Medal in the U-14 Boys 3v3 category at the zonal level with the trophy, followed by a silver medal at the Elite SBP Basketball Tournament, Derabassi.
