Intense cold wave conditions continued in Himachal Pradesh with rain and snowfall in different parts of the state.
The mid and higher hills received rain while it snowed in high reaches.
Narkanda and Kufri received a few inches of snow on Thursday morning, which halted the traffic on the Indo-Tibetan road. However, traffic in Shimla, Kufri and Fagu is normal, said Jamval.
The hoteliers are happy hoping for a windfall as tourist inflow is likely to increase this weekend due to snowfall ahead of Christmas and New Year.
The met department has issued a yellow warning for heavy rain and snowfall for Thursday and Friday in Himachal.
Meanwhile, Lahaul-Spiti's administrative centre Keylong continued to be the coldest place with the lowest temperature in the state at minus 4 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature in Kinnaur's Kalpa was minus 1.6 degrees Celsius, he added.
Similarly the minimum temperature in Manali, Kufri, Dalhousie, Shimla and Una settled at 0.4, 4, 4.2, 4.5 and 5.3 degrees Celsius respectively, he added. With Agencies
