Despite the curfew, a few shopkeepers opened shops in Mohali today due to which residents rushed to shops to purchase ration.
According to sources, around five shops in a row were found open at Sohana village near main gurdwara on the airport road here. A member of Inner Wheel Mohali Symphony Club said around 7 am, five shops were seen open and gathering of customers was also witnessed there. After two hours, the shops got closed. In the afternoon, one shop was seen open in Sohana village. In Industrial Area, Phase 7, a person was booked by the police who had opened his ‘khokha’ in the locality. Sub Inspector Baljinder Singh Mand said the suspect had been identified as Vikas Kumar and a case has been registered against him under Sections 188, 269 and 270 of the IPC at the Phase 1 police station.
