Former Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu met Congress president Sonia Gandhi here on Wednesday and discussed with her the roadmap for the revival of Punjab.

AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was also present at the meeting.

Sidhu said he had been called by the party leadership to discuss the current situation in Punjab.

“I shared my roadmap on the revival of Punjab with the party leadership and the ways in which we can restore the pride of the state. It is the same roadmap which I have shared with the people over many years of my public life,” Sidhu said in a statement.

Sidhu had resigned from the Punjab cabinet on July 15 last year after CM Amarinder Singh changed his portfolio.

Sidhu met Priyanka at her residence for 40 minutes on Tuesday before meeting the Congress president on Wednesday.
