Six-year-old Ojaswani wins golf meet

Ojaswani won the U-7 title with a gross score of 83 in the US Kids Big 5 South African Open Invitational Tournament.

Chandigarh, February 23

Six-year-old Ojaswani Saraswat of Mohali Golf Range Punjab won the US Kids Big 5 South African Open Invitational Tournament. Playing her first international tournament, Ojaswani won the under-7 title with a total score of 83 (39- 44) in a two-day event at Zebula Golf Estate and Spa Golf Course in Johannesburg.

She won the title with 10 pars and one birdie. Players from France, Germany, UK, Austria, Italy, Kenya and South Africa participated in this event. Ojaswini, a trainee of Arjuna Awardee Harmeet Kahlon, practises at the Mohali Golf Range. She has won as many as 15 titles out of the 17 she has participated in so far.

Other trainees also shine

Fifteen-year-old Yuvraaj Singh Hara recently participated in international golf tournaments in Indonesia, USA and Scotland, while 13-year-old Mohul Dhingra scored a championship Hole in One. Another young golfer, 11-year-old Ira Jamwal, has won a prize at an International IJGA Tournament in USA.
