With an aim to promote alternative and traditional systems of medicine, the Punjab Government has decided to set-up a 50-bed Ayurvedic, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH) hospital at Duneke village, on the outskirts of Moga city.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu will lay the foundation stone of the hospital on Saturday. Cost of the hospital, which will be built on 5 kanal of land, is estimated to be around Rs6.16 crore.
Moga Sub-Divisional Magistrate Satwant Singh said check-up and treatment services under various systems defined by AYUSHwould be offered at the hospital, which was expected to be completed in 15 months. “A contract to construct the hospital has already been given to a firm, which will start the work immediately after the foundation-stone laying ceremony,” he said.
