Seven players of a team getting out on duck. Taking 11 overs to muster 14 runs in a T20 game. And then, the opponents killing off the contest in a little over an over. All over in just 74 balls. At times cricket can be so much farcical.

The Group C match between Himachal Pradesh and Arunachal Pradesh during the ongoing Women's Cricket U-23 T20 league at the Air Force Complex ground at Palam in New Delhi had all the elements of a Charlie Chaplin gag. Characters fooling around in a slow pace, exhausting each scene with full potential, only to end it in a slapstick manner. Spectators, a handful of them, got their dose of pathos.

Batting first, the Arunachal Pradesh team was all out for just 14 runs in 11 overs. Nabam Yapu, the No. 10 batter, was the top-scorer with an unbeaten knock of 8 runs. Seven batters failed to break the duck. Understandably, reaching the double-figure mark became a wild goose chase for the whole team. In reply, Himachal Pradesh sprinted to the total in just 1.2 overs.

Brief Scores: Arunachal Pradesh: 14 all out in 11 overs (Nabam Yapu 8*; Prachi Chauhan 4/1, Renuka Singh 2/4); Himachal Pradesh: 17/0 in 1.2 overs
