NEW DELHI

Diana Edulji, a member of the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA), has said that they are yet to take a decision over allowing the wives of cricketers to extend their stay during the overseas tours. This comes after captain Virat Kohli put forth a request before BCCI to allow the wives of players to extend their stay on overseas tours. Edulji said “more opinions will be taken” in the matter and it might “take some more time”. Earlier this year, BCCI had announced that the wives and girlfriends of cricketers will be allowed to stay with their partners for a duration of two weeks while the team is touring overseas.

Most corrupt bookies in  cricket are Indians: ICC official

The ICC has been carrying out investigations on deep-rooted corruption in Sri Lankan cricket but amid that, its Anti Corruption Unit official Alex Marshall revealed an alarming fact: most of the bookies indulging in corrupt practices are Indians. Asked if all active corruptors are local, Marshall said: “In Sri Lanka, it was both local and Indian corruptors. In most other parts of the world it is mostly corrupt Indian bookies.” Marshall said ICC is currently monitoring “12-20 active corruptors” while there is suspicion on at least six, who the players should be wary of. “We showed them six. There are probably 12-20 very active corruptors that we are currently monitoring. The pictures shown were all men, but there are couple of women, too, involved in the whole picture,” added Marshall.
