Opener Dean Elgar was ruled out of the rest of the match as he suffered concussion after being hit by a bouncer from Umesh Yadav. Minutes before the tea break, Elgar tried to duck a short delivery from Yadav, and was hit just above the ear. He immediately fell to the ground.

"Dean Elgar is still being assessed and we are following the standard ICC concussion protocol. The match referee has approved Theunis de Bruyn as Dean Elgar's replacement as result of concussion," a South Africa team statement said. — PTI
