Kohli says respect opponents after hitting, ticking Williams

After hitting a six off Kesrick Williams, Virat Kohli ticks off the name of Williams in an imaginary notebook. Williams had done the same to Kohli after dismissing him in an ODI earlier this year.

Hyderabad, December 7

India skipper Virat Kohli, who guided the Men in Blue to their highest-ever T20I chase in the first T20I against West Indies, believes while it is important for the players to play hard and aggressive cricket, what is more important is the need to respect the opponents.

Kohli had a run-in with West Indies pacer Kesrick Williams in the 14th over when Kohli flicked a ball for a six on the leg-side. After playing that shot, the 31-year-old brought out his notebook celebration, making the Hyderabad crowd go wild, as Williams looked on in amusement. After the match, Kohli revealed that the two have a bit of history from a 2017 match. — IANS

Virat Kohli averages a mind-boggling 120.90 in India’s T20I  wins when chasing. He is the only batsman to score over 1,000 runs in wins batting second. He easily tops the list even if we reduce the criteria to 750 runs.
