NZ win lone T20I vs Lanka

Auckland, January 11

The recalled Doug Bracewell and debutant Scott Kuggeleijn starred with bat and ball for New Zealand to beat Sri Lanka by 35 runs in the one-off T20 match in Auckland on Friday. It ended a dismal tour for the Sri Lankans with the drawn first Test followed by a succession of losses in the second Test, three ODIs and the Twenty20. New Zealand, sent in to bat, recovered from 55/5 to finish on 179/7. Sri Lanka had the game in control at 118/4 after 12 overs, but lost last six wickets for only 26 more runs. — AFP

Brief scores: NZ 179/7 (Bracewell 44, Kuggeleijn 35*); Sri Lanka 144 all out
