Chandigarh, January 1

Uttarakhand beat Haryana 1-0, while Punjab blanked Jammu and Kashmir on the fifth day of the Santosh Trophy North Zone qualifiers in Sundernagar, Himachal Pradesh.

Anuj Rawat scored the first goal for Uttarakhand in the 71st minute.

In the other match, Punjab edged out Jammu and Kashmir 1-0 to enter the final round of the tournament. After a goalless first half, J&K came close to scoring when Nainjot Singh got hold of the ball in front of goal but the winger failed to get any power in his shot and the ball went straight into the hands of Punjab keeper Paramjit Singh.

At the other end, Punjab broke the deadlock when J&K defender Aakif Javaid made a blunder to clear a long ball in the box. The ball rolled to Rajbir Singh who fired it into the net.
