Earlier, world No. 6 Sung Ji Hyun beat world No. 3 PV Sindhu 11-15 15-13 15-14 to give Delhi a 2-1 advantage.

Chennai had opened with a win as the men’s pair of Sumeeth Reddy and Lee Yang beat Ivan Sozonov and Vladimir Ivanov 15-13 15-11 in Delhi’s trump match.

But Vincent Wong Wing Ki beat Brice Leverdez 15-10 15-13 and Tain Houwei beat Tanongsak Saemsomboonsuk 15-14 15-10 to make it 1-1.
