Dhaka [Bangladesh], January 4 (ANI): Bangladesh have announced their 15-member squad for the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Litton Das will lead Bangladesh at the marquee T20 event, set to be held in India and Sri Lanka in February-March, as per ICC's website.

Bangladesh boast a well-rounded bowling attack spearheaded by the experienced pair of pacers Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed. Support from Mahedi Hasan, Nasum Ahmed, and Rishad Hossain could prove crucial on spin-friendly surfaces in the sub-continent, making Bangladesh a side not to be taken lightly, despite them having never qualified for the T20 World Cup semifinals or beyond.

With the bat, the Bangladesh side will depend on captain Litton Das, while the likes of Tanzid Hasan and Parvez Hossain Emon will be expected to provide the Asian team a quick start at the top of the order.

Bangladesh, who have been drawn in a challenging group alongside England, West Indies, Nepal, and Italy, will face stiff competition right from the get-go as only the top two teams will progress to the Super 8s.

The Litton Das-led Bangladesh are scheduled to kick their T20 World Cup 2026 campaign off on February 7 against two-time champions West Indies at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

After West Indies, Bangladesh will face Italy on February 9 at the same venue before facing the 2022 T20 World Cup champions, England, in Kolkata again. After facing England, Bangladesh are scheduled to travel to Mumbai to play Nepal at Wankhede Stadium.

The World Cup event will start on February 7 with a match between Pakistan and Netherlands at Colombo. (ANI)
